The Cohesive Force

There is a truth—radiant, unshakable, eternal—that echoes through the galaxies and whispers in the stillness between heartbeats:

“And He Himself existed and is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.”

—Colossians 1:17 (AMP)

What science is only beginning to glimpse through microscopes, what physicists theorize in equations of quantum fields and unified forces, the Word declared long ago: He is the force that holds all things together.

Not symbolically.

Not metaphorically.

But literally. Cosmically. Biologically. Spiritually.

Christ is not merely part of the structure of the universe—He is its structure.

He is the glue, the gravity, the golden thread.

He is the cohesive force that binds what seems unbindable.

And when everything else unravels, He does not.

The Before

Before light.

Before time.

Before atoms spun or galaxies swirled.

Before there was a “let there be,” He was.

He didn’t begin at Genesis.

He didn’t appear at Bethlehem.

He always was.

“The Lord brought me forth as the first of His works, before His deeds of old; I was formed long ages ago…”

—Proverbs 8:22–23

This passage speaks not only of divine wisdom, but of the eternal Logos—the living Word, Yeshua Himself. The One through whom all was made.

Before the voice that shook Mount Sinai, before the whisper that came to Elijah, there was the Word—already pulsing with light, already full of glory, already desiring to hold everything together…

Even the things that would break His heart.

The Holding

Hold together.

In the Greek, this phrase is “synistēmi”—to consist, to cohere, to endure because of an inner framework that is not seen. It is a word of binding.

A word of intimacy.

A word of stability.

And it reveals that Yeshua is not distant from the design.

He is not simply the architect—He is the adhesive.

Every atom. Every cell. Every strand of DNA. Every thought. Every emotion.

Every moment you feel like you’re falling apart—

is still held in place by Him.

Science tells us that atoms, despite their structure, should not be able to hold together. That the positively charged protons in the nucleus should repel one another violently. And yet they don’t.

They’re held together by what physicists call the strong nuclear force—the most powerful of the fundamental forces in the universe.

But Scripture already revealed the Source of that force.

Not a nameless quantum field.

A Person. A Presence. A Redeemer.

Yeshua Ha’Mashiach.

He holds what would otherwise fall apart.

He suspends the impossible.

He binds the fragmented.

He sustains what cannot sustain itself.

And that includes you.

The Cosmic Christ

This is not the soft-spoken shepherd of children’s Bibles—

This is the Cosmic Christ.

The One whose robe fills the temple.

The One whose breath became galaxies.

The One whose voice split the seas.

The One whose hands not only healed the sick but spun the stars and shaped your heart.

All things means all things.

Your body.

Your breath.

Your memory.

Your purpose.

Your trauma.

Your timelines.

Your DNA and your destiny.

Held. Sustained. Cohesively woven together

by the One who never lets go.

The Unseen Force of Love

Modern physicists speak of dark energy—a mysterious force that makes up about 68% of the universe and is responsible for its expansion. They still don’t know what it is. They call it a placeholder.

An unnamed mystery.

But the Word has already named it:

God is love.” —1 John 4:8

Love is the energy expanding the universe.

Love is the pulse behind all matter.

Love is the gravitational pull that draws the lost, the lonely, the broken, the forgotten—back into wholeness.

When Paul writes that “in Him all things hold together,”

he is not just offering a theological assertion—

he is revealing the atomic truth of the cosmos.

The intimacy of incarnation.

The brilliance of divine entanglement.

When You Are Falling Apart

What about when you don’t feel held?

What about when everything in your life is unraveling—your body, your relationships, your mind?

Hear this:

Held does not mean hardened.

Cohesive does not mean comfortable.

And together does not always look like unshattered.

Sometimes God lets the outer shell fall,

so you can see who’s really holding the center.

The fire can burn the dross,

but it cannot break what He has sealed.

The shaking can expose the false,

but it cannot fracture what He fused.

You may be breaking open,

but you are not breaking away.

You are not coming undone.

You are coming into alignment.

You are not being torn.

You are being transformed.

Laminin and the Cross

In biology, there’s a protein that literally holds the cells of your body together.

It’s called laminin.

Under a microscope, laminin takes the form of a cross.

A literal, visible cross

embedded in the microscopic structure of your being—

in every ligament, every joint, every organ

that keeps your body from falling apart.

This is not random.

This is signature.

It is the fingerprint of God.

The evidence that the structure of your existence

was designed to reflect the One who holds all things together.

The Cross is not just where He spread His arms wide—

It’s where He fused heaven and earth,

spirit and flesh,

eternity and time,

divinity and dust.

Christ in you—

the hope of glory.

Christ in your cells—

the hope of cohesion.

Christ in your unraveling—

the hope of resurrection.

I Hear the Spirit Say…

You may feel like you’re in pieces,

but I see the masterpiece.

I am the force that holds you between the inhale and the exhale.

Between the heartbreak and the healing.

Between the now and the not yet.

Do not measure your wholeness by what you see falling away.

Measure it by the One who never lets go.

I hold your galaxies.

I hold your history.

I hold your nervous system.

I hold your timeline.

I hold the rhythm of your voice,

and the secret griefs you haven’t spoken aloud.

And I will hold you—forever.

Even when gravity feels like it’s failing you—

I am the greater gravity.

I hold atoms in orbit.

I hold hearts in tension.

I hold you through your contradiction and into your calling.

You don’t have to hold it all together.

You just have to let Me hold you.

I am the force between the fibers,

the One holding the fractured places

until they become fusion points of glory.

You are not being forgotten.

You are being fastened.

I am stitching your sorrow with strands of My story,

and I am not done.

I was before you.

I am within you.

And I will carry you all the way through.

Let every unraveling be the place where you meet Me again,

the God who weaves even broken threads into radiant glory.”

Final Thought

There is a cross inside of you.

Not just metaphorically.

But molecularly.

Microscopically.

Miraculously.

And that cross testifies:

“He is holding me together.”

Even when your thoughts scatter,

your peace flickers,

your heart races,

your faith wavers—

He never does.

And so when you feel like you’re unraveling,

you’re not falling apart.

You’re falling into the arms of the One

who has never dropped a single thread.

Yeshua—

the unbreaking, unshaking,

unseen yet ever-present

Cohesive Force of all things.

And He is holding…

you.
