Walking with Him Still

They walked with Him with their feet.
We walk with Him by our faith.
There’s something almost enviable about the original disciples.
To sit beside Yeshua at a table.
To hear the gravel crunch beneath His sandals.
To watch His fingers multiply bread,
or heal blind eyes with mud and breath and command.
They followed Him down dusty roads.
They watched Him sleep in a boat.
They felt His robe brush past them.
But what they saw with their eyes
we now behold with our hearts.
They walked with Him with their feet.
We walk with Him by our faith.
And it is not lesser.
It is not diluted.
It is not distant.
It is, in fact, exactly what He prepared us for.
“Blessed are those who have not seen
and yet have believed.”
(John 20:29)
We walk now with what they would come to learn—
Yeshua would no longer be beside us…
but within us.
⸻
The Transition: From Beside to Within
When Yeshua walked the earth,
He was confined to one place, one town, one table at a time.
But when He ascended,
when He breathed out the promise,
when fire fell at Pentecost—
He broke every boundary.
He became present in every surrendered soul.
He had walked beside them.
Now He would walk within us.
“I will ask the Father,
and He will give you another Helper,
so that He may be with you forever…
You know Him because He remains with you
and will be in you.”
(John 14:16–17)
They had Him near.
We have Him indwelling.
They had His voice in their ears.
We have His whisper in our spirit.
They saw His face.
We reflect His image.
They followed footsteps.
We follow fire.
⸻
Walking by Faith Is Not Second Place
It’s easy to think,
“If only I could have been there…”
But what we carry now
is not second-tier.
It is the fulfillment of all He prepared.
Yeshua Himself said:
“It is better for you that I go away,
for if I do not go, the Helper will not come to you.”
(John 16:7)
Better.
Not just different.
Not just consolation.
Better.
Why?
Because through the Holy Spirit,
He would no longer be just a Teacher on the outside,
but a Living Presence on the inside.
Now He walks with us through every hallway,
sits beside us in our cars,
whispers to us while we fold laundry,
guides us in boardrooms and backroads alike.
Our faith becomes our footsteps.
“For we walk by faith, not by sight.”
(2 Corinthians 5:7)

The Journey Is Still Real
Don’t let the invisible fool you.
The journey is still real.
The roads are still dusty.
The trials are still stretching.
The growth is still costly.
But the reward is the same:
to know Him.
To be with Him.
To become like Him.
The original disciples gave up their nets.
We give up our pride.
They left boats.
We leave our idols.
They were called to follow Him physically.
We are called to become His very Body.
⸻
The Spirit’s Whisper
“Do not long for what they had.
I have given you what they only glimpsed.
I walked with them.
But I dwell in you.
You carry Me now.
You host My presence.
And every step of faith
is as real as Peter’s steps on water.
Every whisper you follow
is as clear as the sermon on the mount.
Every time you obey in love,
you reveal My heart to the world.
You walk with Me
through the fire
through the fog
through the furnace
through the field.
And I walk with you
everywhere your yes carries you.”

Declarations
– I declare that I walk by faith and not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7).
– I declare the Holy Spirit lives in me, guides me, and empowers me to follow Yeshua daily (John 14:17).
– I declare I am a temple of the Living God, and His presence dwells within me (1 Corinthians 6:19).
– I declare that though I have not seen Him, I love Him, and I believe with joy inexpressible (1 Peter 1:8).
– I declare that I carry the light of the world within me, and I walk in step with His Spirit.

Prayer
Yeshua,
thank You for walking with the disciples in flesh
so You could walk with me now in Spirit.
Thank You that I don’t need to see You with my eyes
to know You are here.
Deepen my faith.
Sharpen my ears.
Expand my awareness of Your presence.
Let every step I take in faith
become a living testimony
that You still walk with Your people—
not beside us,
but within us.
Amen.
⸻
Final Thought
They walked with Yeshua on dusty roads.
And we walk with Him now—
through valleys and victory,
by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Their footsteps were physical.
Ours are spiritual.
But the journey is no less real.
And He is no less near.
