We Walk by Faith

Tonight it wasn’t a sermon that grabbed me. It wasn’t a verse-of-the-day notification. It was a glance—simple, ordinary, almost laughable in the way the Lord loves to do it.
I happened to look from my kitchen to my left, and at the right angle I could see a frame sitting in one of my office chairs. Well… it used to be a frame. Right now, it’s just the inside of the frame that’s still standing.
And even as I type that, I feel the prophecy in it.
Because it’s the inside that remains.
The outline.
The structure.
The shape that holds what will eventually be seen.
And on that chair there’s a pillow, and the pillow happens to be covering the bottom part. I used to have the frame sitting on top of the pillow while I tried to decide where it belonged permanently. But tonight, with that bottom part hidden, I knew exactly what Holy Spirit was saying.
We walk by faith.
Not because I don’t know the rest of the verse.
I do.
“We walk by faith, not by sight.”
— 2 Corinthians 5:7
But I also knew in that moment He wasn’t emphasizing the contrast.
He was emphasizing the call.
He was saying: You don’t need to see anything else right now.
You don’t need the full picture.
You don’t need the bottom part uncovered.
You don’t need the “how.”
You don’t need the timeline.
You don’t need the reassurance that the frame is going to be filled.
You need faith.
And when that hit me, I audibly said it out loud. Not as a quote. As a declaration.
“We walk by faith.”
And something sparked in me like a fuse met oxygen.
Like Heaven touched the flint.
Like my spirit went, Okay. It’s time. It’s time to start writing. It’s time to start speaking what needs to be heard.
Because this is why we walk by faith.
Faith is not a cute Christian concept.
Faith is the only way you can obey God when obedience makes you look insane to people who live by sight.
Faith is how you keep moving when the frame is still empty.
Faith is how you keep building when the evidence hasn’t arrived.
Faith is how you keep praising when it would make more “sense” to panic.
Faith is how you keep surrendering when your flesh screams, Control it.
And yes—sometimes people will laugh.
Sometimes it will sound ludicrous.
Sometimes you’ll be mid-step into obedience and it will feel like the outside world is looking at you with that expression that says, You sound crazy right now.
But Scripture told us this.
Paul said it plainly:
“The message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing…”
— 1 Corinthians 1:18
He didn’t say it would seem foolish.
He said it will be foolish to people who only trust what they can measure.
So when you’re obeying a God you can’t see, following instructions you can’t explain yet, moving toward a promise you haven’t held in your hands—
you are in good company.
You are not isolated.
You are surrounded.
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses…”
— Hebrews 12:1
A cloud.
Not a row.
A cloud means they are everywhere.
Above you. Around you.
Witnessing.
Cheering.
And most of all—testifying that faith is not fantasy.
It is the most accurate response to the unseen God who governs the seen.
Because Scripture also tells us what the unseen is doing.
“By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.”
— Hebrews 11:3
Did you catch that?
Framed.
Even the language matches what I saw tonight.
The worlds were framed by the Word.
Which means the structure came before the visibility.
The unseen came before the seen.
So when the Lord tells you to walk by faith, He is not asking you to deny reality.
He is inviting you into a deeper reality—one where the unseen is not empty.
It is pregnant.
It is forming.
It is being framed.
And if we make time—if we allow ourselves to surrender—if we stop demanding proof before obedience—if we let the Creator of the universe lead without needing to supervise the process…
He will create the most unexpected, unforeseen beauty in our lives.
Not the kind you can manufacture.
The kind you can only receive.
The kind that feels like destiny unfolding.
Because that’s what it is.
He wrote it before the foundation of the world.
He saw you before anyone knew your name.
He formed you in your mother’s womb with intention, with blueprint-level precision.
“For You formed my innermost parts; You knit me together in my mother’s womb.”
— Psalm 139:13
And He didn’t just form you.
He appointed you.
He ordained moments.
He set ripples in motion that require your yes.
And what is faith, if not the yes that moves before it understands?
Faith is how you become who you were created to be.
Faith is how you step into the thing Heaven has been waiting to reveal.
Faith is how you become the ripple you were born to create.
And I know—“He saved the best for last” sounds like a statement people put on a mug.
But when Holy Spirit breathes on it, it becomes a reality that will make you tremble.
Because the best for last isn’t a cliché.
It’s a pattern.
It’s a God-pattern.
It’s the way He hides glory in seed form.
It’s the way He builds quietly.
It’s the way He does the deepest work under cover.
It’s the way He lets what’s inside the frame become strong enough to carry what will eventually be seen.
And this is what undoes me:
He will arrange things in your life that don’t happen for others.
Not because you’re better.
But because He’s personal.
Because He’s a Father.
Because He knows how you hear Him.
Because He knows what will anchor you.
Because He knows what you need to notice.
So He will go out of His way to make sure you see a “simple thing” that isn’t simple at all.
To others, it’s a chair with a frame.
To you, it’s Heaven saying:
I’m always with you.
Keep listening.
Keep leaning.
Keep trusting.
Keep believing.
And if you’re waiting for the moment faith feels easy—let me tell you the truth:
Faith isn’t always comfortable.
But it is always alive.
It is always active.
It is always the language of those who were born for more than what their eyes can currently verify.
So tonight, I’m letting that frame preach.
I’m letting the covered bottom part preach.
I’m letting the “not yet” preach.
I’m letting Holy Spirit remind me—and remind you—that we don’t wait for sight to obey.
We obey because we trust the One who sees.
And if He says it’s time to move—
then it’s time to move.
Because we walk by faith.
Not by what we can prove.
Not by what we can predict.
Not by what looks safe.
But by the Word that framed worlds.
By the Father who planned goodness.
By the Messiah who went first.
By the Spirit who whispers through ordinary angles and ordinary rooms until your spirit catches fire.
So rise up.
Not because you have all the answers.
But because you have the assignment.
Rise up because faith is not a feeling.
It’s an agreement with Heaven that says:
If God said it—then it is already forming.
And the unseen will become seen.
At the appointed time.
In the most beautiful way.
And when it does…
you’ll realize you weren’t walking blind.
You were walking with Him.
And that is the safest place you will ever be.
———
I Hear the Spirit Say…
“Beloved—walk.
Not when you can see the whole road.
Not when the bottom edge of the frame is uncovered.
Not when the outcome is finally “reasonable.”
Walk now.
Because faith is not the consolation prize for those who don’t get certainty…
faith is the agreement of the brave—the ones who trust Me enough to move while the miracle is still forming.
You keep asking for more sight, but I am offering you more union.
I am not trying to make you guess.
I am training you to recognize Me—in angles, in shadows, in ordinary rooms, in the quiet places where your flesh would never expect a word.
That frame you saw? That wasn’t random.
That was Me reminding you: I build from the inside out.
I strengthen the structure before I reveal the picture.
I establish the “within” before I unveil the “without.”
So don’t despise the outline.
Don’t resent the hidden part.
Don’t interpret “covered” as “cancelled.”
What is covered is not absent—
it is protected.
It is maturing.
It is being framed by My Word.
And yes—there are seasons where I keep the bottom portion hidden on purpose, because if you saw everything at once, you would try to carry it in your own strength. You would rush the reveal and miss the formation. You would confuse information for transformation.
But I am not raising you to be impressed.
I am raising you to be sent.
I am shaping your yes until it has weight.
I am forging your obedience until it has spine.
I am steadying your nervous system until peace becomes your default, not your emergency exit.
So hear Me:
Keep listening.
Keep leaning.
Keep trusting.
You are not behind.
You are not lost.
You are not wandering.
You are walking with Me.
And when you cannot see, you will learn to feel the pull of My presence—like a hand on the back of your soul, guiding you forward.
Let the “not yet” preach to you.
Let the unfinished frame prophesy.
Let the covered part become holy—not as absence, but as mercy.
Because I do not reveal to entertain you.
I reveal to empower you.
And the moment you stop demanding sight as proof of My goodness, you will realize: I have been moving toward you the entire time.
So rise.
Not because you have it all mapped out—
but because I am with you.
Walk by faith.
And watch the unseen become visible…
not by striving…
but by staying with Me long enough for the world to catch up to what I already spoke.
I am framing you.
I am finishing you.
And I am faithful to complete what I began.”
