I woke up this morning with a song playing in my spirit.
Not a song I had been listening to recently.
Not a song I had rehearsed or planned.
But a song that rose up like dew from the depths of my spirit—
“I will stand by you.
I will help you through.”
I’m sure most people have heard this melody at some point. It’s beautiful. Gentle. Hopeful. But this morning, it didn’t just sound like a song—it sounded like a promise.
It sounded like Him.
Because I’ve learned by now that when this happens—when I wake up with a lyric, a phrase, a whisper in my spirit—I can’t brush it off. I know what it is. It’s not random. It’s not coincidence. It’s a signal. Divine frequency. Heavenly download.
Because when we first wake up, our minds are in a different state.
⸻
The Science of First Light
In the first few minutes after waking, your brain operates primarily in what are called theta and alpha wave states. These are slower, more fluid brain wave frequencies that sit just above the unconscious delta state of sleep.
Theta is where we dream. Where visions speak. Where deep, subconscious revelation rises.
Alpha is where we receive. Where the mind is calm, the heart is open, and the veil is still thin.
This is the state before the mental noise of the world floods in.
This is the state before logic tries to dominate what the Spirit is gently saying.
This is the moment before the to-do list becomes louder than the whisper of the Lord.
This is why what you hear when you first wake matters so much.
You are, quite literally, like an antenna. A transmitter and a receiver.
And the frequency you’re tuned to determines the broadcast you pick up.
If you’re still long enough… if you’re sensitive enough…
you’ll realize He’s been speaking all along.
⸻
Let
I heard one word next.
Whispered so gently I could’ve missed it.
“Let.”
It hovered there in the morning light like a mist, soft and almost weightless, but heavy with divine meaning. I’ve written before about this word. Three letters. So small. But so commanding. So piercing. So full of surrender.
Let.
Let Me.
Let Me help.
Let Me give.
Let Me provide.
Let Me hold you.
Let Me show you.
How difficult it is for us, even in our love for Him, to truly let Him do it.
Let Him be who He is.
Let Him carry what He already paid for.
Let Him prepare the next step, even when we’re anxious to take it.
The word let is not passive. It’s powerful.
It is the posture of a yielded spirit.
And in that posture, grace rushes in like light through an open window.

Signal in the Stillness
We are spirit before we are body. We are designed to respond to frequency, to tone, to light, to love. These are not just poetic ideas—these are physiological and metaphysical truths. God, who is Spirit, who is Word, who is sound before structure—He speaks into the stillness.
And when we are still enough, surrendered enough, we hear it.
“Answers,” He told me this morning, “are not born of effort, but of encounter.”
Slow down and you can hear it.
You don’t need to figure it all out.
You don’t need to piece it all together.
You only need to stay in the frequency of trust.
⸻
Let Me Speak to the Morning
When you wake, before your feet touch the ground, ask:
Lord, what are You saying today?
Let Him speak before the world does.
Let Him pour manna before the heat of the day melts it away.
He is not waiting for your plan—He’s releasing provision for your path.
“My ways are not figured,” He said. “They are followed.
My words are not dissected. They are discerned.
I provide before you even ask.
What you needed was already falling.
You only needed to be there to receive it.
Every moment, it is available.”
The morning holds blueprints.
The waking hour is where signal is clearest.
Answers are waiting, not in effort, but in atmosphere.
And you—yes, you—are the antenna He tunes to Heaven.

The Neuroscience of Waking: Why Morning Messages Matter
Every morning, as your eyes flutter open and your breath returns to conscious rhythm, something profound happens in the unseen. You are not just waking physically—you are passing through a neurological threshold where Heaven has more access than the world does.
This sacred space—the first few minutes after waking—is governed by unique brainwave patterns that most people never consider. But understanding them opens the door to deeper awareness of how and why God often speaks in that moment. It explains why you hear what you hear. Why the lyrics play. Why His whisper is clearest before your feet touch the floor.
Understanding the Brain’s Morning Frequencies
When we sleep, our brains cycle through five primary brainwave states: Delta, Theta, Alpha, Beta, and Gamma. Each of these operates at a different frequency and governs distinct mental, emotional, and spiritual capacities. But it’s theta and alphathat are most present during the transition from sleep to wakefulness—and these states carry profound spiritual implications.
1. Theta (4–8 Hz): The Dream State of the Spirit
Theta waves are dominant during light sleep and REM (rapid eye movement) phases. But most importantly, theta is the realm of deep meditation, intuition, and spiritual encounter.
Spiritually: This is the gateway between the subconscious and the conscious—where visions, dreams, and divine downloads are most easily received. The veil is thin here. You are most sensitive to the Spirit’s frequency in theta.
Neurologically: In theta, the prefrontal cortex (responsible for logic, decision-making, and reasoning) is at rest. The limbic system—the seat of emotions, memory, and relational connection—is more active. This allows you to feel and receive revelation without trying to dissect or overanalyze it.
Biblically: Many of God’s encounters with prophets came in dreams or dream-like visions. Consider how God spoke to Joseph, Daniel, and even Pilate’s wife—when reasoning was at rest, revelation arose.
2. Alpha (8–12 Hz): The Calm Focus of Reception
Alpha waves increase as you begin to wake. You’re not quite alert, but not asleep either. Your mind is quiet. This is the bridge between dreaming and doing—and it is often the most overlooked realm of divine clarity.
Spiritually: Alpha is the space of stillness. This is where God’s whisper can rise above the static. It’s the “be still and know” frequency. When you hear a lyric, a word, a phrase from Him in this state—it’s pure. It hasn’t been filtered through anxiety, distraction, or the demands of the day.
Physiologically: In alpha, cortisol (the stress hormone) is still low. Your body is not yet under pressure. Your brain is open to suggestion, and neuroplasticity is high—which means you’re more receptive to truth, hope, and spiritual formation.
Metaphysically: Alpha is the state of effortless awareness. It’s where gratitude flows easily, where peace feels tangible, and where the line between spirit and body seems to blur.
Scientifically Proven Impact: Studies show that alpha states increase creativity, memory retention, and emotional balance. It’s no wonder that God often speaks just before we fully wake—because we are finally quiet enough to hear.

Why the Enemy Fights Your Mornings
If this is the frequency where clarity flows… if this is the hour when God sets the tone of the day… then it makes perfect sense why spiritual resistance shows up strongest in the morning.
You oversleep.
You wake up with anxiety.
You reach for your phone instead of His voice.
You feel disoriented, unmotivated, or already behind.
These are not coincidences—they are disruptions of divine design.
Because the enemy cannot steal your destiny, he tries to steal your frequency.
He cannot undo your calling, so he dulls your ability to hear the One who called you.
But when you honor the stillness, when you return to the frequency of trust, when you let Him speak before the world does—everything changes.
The “thin place” of morning becomes your altar.
The lyric becomes your lifeline.
The whisper becomes your direction.
You don’t need to strain or strive.
You only need to let.

I Hear the Spirit Say…
“I will stand by you—not just beside you, but within you.
Closer than fear, closer than pain, closer than breath.
I am not shaken by what shakes you.
I surround what surrounds you and speak peace into the places that storm.
I will help you through—not just to survive, but to become.
Stronger. Softer. Wiser. Brighter.
I sanctify what you walk through, even when you don’t understand it.
What presses you will not crush you—it will shape you for glory.
You don’t need to do this alone.
You’ve never been alone.
Not in the ache. Not in the silence. Not in the stretch.
I’ve been there, carrying what you couldn’t, speaking when you had no words.
You don’t need to rush.
You are not behind—you are right on time.
I write timelines in grace, not pressure.
Stillness is not weakness—it’s trust.
Waiting is not wasting—it’s preparation.
You don’t need to fix it all.
You are not the Savior—I AM.
Let go of the weight you were never meant to carry.
My strength is made perfect in your surrender.
I make mosaics from shattered pieces.
You don’t need to figure it out.
Some things are not puzzles to solve—they are mysteries to receive.
I never asked you to map the path, only to follow the light.
I will guide you one step at a time, and grace will meet you there.
You only need to let.
Let go. Let in. Let Me.
Let Me be the kindness you crave.
The peace that steadies.
The voice that silences shame and sings over you with joy.
Let Me lead you—through valleys and into new places.
Let Me carry you—over mountains you thought were too high.
Let Me fill you—until you overflow with peace that makes no sense and joy that won’t quit.
Even now, I am moving.
Even now, what you need is already unfolding.
Even now, My love is the frequency filling the space around you.
Tune your heart to Me again.
The melody you thought was lost has only grown quieter so you’d lean in.
And now—hear it?
The song begins again.
You are heard.
You are held.
You are home.”

Final Thought
When the Spirit wakes you with a whisper, a lyric, a nudge—
don’t ignore it.
You’re in the space between night and day,
between what was and what is.
You are more receptive than you know.
More wired to Heaven than you realize.
So before the world gets loud—
Be still.
Listen.
Let.
Receive.
Because what He gives you in the first light
…may just be the manna that carries you through.
