This morning, as I was writing, something sacred happened.
I penned the words: “The safest place you’ll ever be is in reckless surrender to the One who is Love.”
And immediately, something ignited in my spirit. It was as if divine electricity crackled across the neural network of my soul. I found myself wishing I could see what was happening inside my brain in real time—what neurons were lighting up, what hidden corridors were being illuminated with glory, what fresh pathways were being forged by the Spirit’s whisper.
Because that’s exactly what it felt like: a divine detonation of wonder.
And then I paused.
Reckless surrender.
Two words that, on the surface, don’t belong together.
They almost clash.
They feel like opposites—like fire and water, like thunder and stillness.
And yet, when they come together, they sing a song I recognize in the deepest part of me. A sound older than language. A harmony that only Heaven could compose.
⸻
What’s the Word I’m Looking For?
Yes—oxymoron.
That’s the word.
An oxymoron is a figure of speech where contradictory terms appear in conjunction. Words that, when seen together, make you stop. Tilt your head. Reconsider everything.
Deafening silence.
Bittersweet.
Holy fire.
Reckless surrender.
When the Holy Spirit breathes through paradox, revelation follows.
And this phrase—reckless surrender—carries more than poetic weight. It carries the DNA of our Messiah.
⸻
Let’s Define the Words, Shall We?
Reckless (adj.) — “Marked by lack of proper caution; careless of consequences; acting without thinking about the results.”
In the natural, reckless is often seen as negative. Dangerous. Risky. Irresponsible.
But what if the Spirit reframes it?
What if reckless doesn’t mean careless in a chaotic way…
…but fearless in a faith-filled way?
Now let’s look at the second word.
Surrender (noun/verb) — “To yield to the power, control, or possession of another; to give up completely; to abandon oneself entirely.”
It speaks of letting go.
Of yielding.
Of falling into someone’s arms and not asking where they’ll carry you.
Now read those definitions again, slowly:
A fearless, faith-filled letting go… into the arms of the One who is Love Himself.
That’s not weakness.
That’s worship.
⸻
The Messiah Modeled It First
Yeshua’s entire life was a walking, breathing oxymoron.
He was the eternal Word who became flesh.
The Lion who came as a Lamb.
The Judge who bore the judgment.
The King who served.
The Sinless One who became sin so we could become righteous.
And above all… the God who surrendered.
Recklessly.
Yes—He surrendered without self-preservation.
He didn’t hold anything back.
Not His time. Not His body. Not His blood. Not even His breath.
The cross wasn’t a calculated move.
It was reckless surrender.
And it was the safest place any of us could ever be.
Because from that reckless surrender came resurrection.
⸻
What Neuroscience Is Showing Us
Here’s what amazes me: even science is starting to catch up to the beauty of this divine design.
When we surrender—truly surrender, whether in worship, love, or trust—our brains light up. Neural pathways shift. Certain parts of the brain associated with fear and self-preservation begin to quiet. Activity in the amygdala (the fear center) decreases, and the prefrontal cortex (the area of awareness and empathy) becomes more active.
But here’s where it gets wild:
The posterior cingulate cortex, which is associated with self-consciousness and ego, begins to quiet in deep spiritual surrender. In its place? A sense of “oneness,” peace, and divine presence.
We literally lose our grip on control—and gain connection.
Even the heart joins in. It sends more signals to the brain than the brain sends to it. Four times as many, in fact. And every time we rest in surrender, the heart rhythms become more coherent. Which means we’re not just emotionally safe—we’re physiologically aligned.
What Yeshua modeled at the cross isn’t just theology.
It’s transformation—spirit, soul, and body.
⸻
So Why Is Reckless Surrender the Safest Place?
Because Love Himself is waiting there.
And when you fall into Him with nothing held back—
not certainty,
not explanations,
not a 5-year plan,
not backup options—
just love…
You are falling into arms that have never dropped anyone.
You are being held by the One whose very nature is to catch, to cradle, to carry.
Reckless surrender is where you stop trying to protect yourself—
and start remembering you’re already protected.
It’s where you stop building walls—
and start becoming a holy wildfire.
⸻
Final Thought
To the world, it doesn’t make sense.
To logic, it looks dangerous.
To fear, it feels impossible.
But to the Spirit?
It’s the only way forward.
Reckless surrender to the One who is Love
isn’t just a poetic phrase.
It’s a prophetic posture.
A healing vibration.
A neurological recalibration.
A spiritual alignment.
And it is—without question—
the safest place you will ever be.
Because the One who waits for you there…
Is fire.
Is breath.
Is beauty.
And He is Love.
———
I Hear the Spirit Say…
“You’ve been taught to calculate before you leap.
To guard your heart.
To keep your hands on the wheel.
To weigh the cost and protect your outcome.
But I am not inviting you into calculation—
I am calling you into combustion.
Into the wild flame of reckless surrender.
Do you feel it?
That tug deep in your chest?
That ache that isn’t fear—but freedom trying to be born?
That is Me.
I am not the voice of control.
I am not the voice of caution.
I am the Voice that stilled the storm, split the sea,
and speaks peace into chaos—not by avoidance,
but by walking into the fire with you.
You keep thinking surrender will cost you your safety.
But beloved, surrender is your safety.
Because when you fall into Me—fully, fearlessly—
you’re not falling into uncertainty.
You’re falling into arms that shaped the stars.
Let go.
You’ve called it reckless…
But in My Kingdom, it’s called faith.
The mind will call it risk.
But the spirit knows—this is resurrection ground.
For when you surrender without reservation,
you don’t lose yourself.
You find Me.
You find who you were before fear taught you how to hide.
Before religion taught you to strive.
Before pain taught you to control.
Come.
Fall into the fire.
Let it burn away the false scaffolding.
Let it melt every mask.
Let it awaken what you buried to survive.
This is not your destruction.
It is your deliverance.
And this is not the end.
It’s the beginning of your becoming.
The safest place you’ll ever be—
is here,
heart open,
grip released,
eyes locked on Mine…
In reckless surrender to the One who is Love.”
