a divine declaration of the Messiah’s rulership.

God says,

“Ask Me.”

The nations are not claimed by conquest,

but by inheritance.

They are not won by human power,

but received by divine decree.

They are not seized by ambition,

but entrusted through relationship.

This is the heartbeat of kingdom legacy —

and you, beloved,

are called to step into it.

Let’s break this wide open.

In English, the word inheritance comes from the Latin inhereditare,

meaning “to appoint as heir, to make one heir.”

It carries the sense of receiving something not because you earned it,

but because you were named in relationship —

a gift passed down from one generation to the next.

In Hebrew, the word used for inheritance is נַחֲלָה (nachalah),

meaning portion, possession, heritage, or property received by lot.

It comes from the root נחל (nachal),

which also means to receive or acquire,

but with the undercurrent of being entrusted by divine arrangement.

In other words,

inheritance in the biblical sense is not about entitlement or personal gain —

it is about receiving what God has sovereignly apportioned

for His purposes,

for His glory,

and for His unfolding kingdom on earth.

   it is about standing in relationship as an heir. You are a co-heir with Christ (Romans 8:17) —

   your inheritance flows from Him.

3. Understand, inheritance carries responsibility.

   To receive the nations is not about ego or empire; it is about stewarding, discipling, serving, and lifting up those God entrusts to your influence.
